Delete Your Wingtrex Account

This page explains how to delete your Wingtrex account and what happens to your data. It applies to the Wingtrex mobile app (Wingtrex on Google Play, app ID com.wingtrex.app) and to app.wingtrex.com, both published by Wingtrex.

Delete from the mobile app

1. Open the Wingtrex app and sign in.
2. Open Settings.
3. Scroll to Delete account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete account.

Delete from the web app

1. Sign in at app.wingtrex.com.
2. Open the user menu and choose Settings.
3. Choose Delete Account and confirm.

If you cannot sign in

Email privacy@wingtrex.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify ownership of the address before acting, and complete the request within 30 days.

What is deleted

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. The following are erased permanently:

• Your login, password, active sessions, and any linked Google or Apple sign-in
• Your profile: name, username, email address, and profile photo
• Your pilot profile: flight hours, ratings, medical certificate details, and bio
• Your credentials and any documents you uploaded, along with any organization's verification of them
• Your instructor signature records, if you are a CFI
• Your memberships in every organization you belong to
• Your push notification tokens and notification preferences

What is removed from view but kept as a record

Messages you sent are emptied in place: the text and any attachments are erased, and only a blank placeholder remains so that the other participant's conversation still reads correctly. Your name is no longer attached to it.

What is kept

Organizations you belong to are independent businesses that keep their own operating records. The following stay with the organization after your account is gone. Your name is stripped from them and they appear against an anonymous “Deleted User” entry:

• Billing records — invoices, payments, and account ledger entries, retained for the organization's accounting and tax obligations
• Flight and operating records — reservations, aircraft meter and service entries, squawks you reported, and maintenance log entries, retained for the organization's aviation-safety and recordkeeping obligations
• Training records — where you were the instructor of record at a flight school, enrollments are reassigned to another staff member so the school's training file stays intact, as required for FAA recordkeeping
• Organizations you created — the organization itself is not deleted. Ownership is cleared and the remaining administrators continue to run it. If you are the only administrator, transfer or close the organization before deleting your account.

These records are retained for as long as the organization requires them, and are governed by that organization's own retention practices. They no longer identify you by name, email, or profile.

Backups

Deleted data may persist in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days after deletion, after which the backups expire and the data is purged automatically. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove individual data. From within the app you can delete logbook entries and their photos, imported logbook batches, personal currency rules, and individual credentials and their documents, and you can leave an organization without closing your account.
