Structured training, from syllabus to sign-off
School-owned syllabi, stage checks with independent grading, and training records that survive instructor turnover. Built for Part 141 workflows, and just as sharp under Part 61.
Sound familiar?
Your training program deserves better than a filing cabinet
Training records live in paper folders
Lesson grades, stage check results, and instructor notes are scattered across binders and PDFs. When the FAA or a new chief instructor asks for a student's history, someone goes digging.
Instructor turnover erases context
When a CFI leaves, their students' progress leaves with them. The next instructor starts from a conversation instead of a record.
Stage checks are on the honor system
Part 141 expects independent evaluation, but nothing in your process actually stops a primary instructor from grading their own student's stage check.
Students stall without anyone noticing
A student who hasn't flown in three weeks is a dropout risk and a revenue leak. Spreadsheets don't flag them. You find out when they stop answering emails.
How it works
The whole training program in one system
Wingtrex Training runs inside your organization's portal, next to your schedule, fleet, and billing.
Syllabi that belong to your school
Courses are owned by the organization, not by an individual instructor. Build stages and lessons with objectives, completion standards, and estimated durations, or start from a template: Private Pilot in a Part 61 or Part 141 Appendix B structure, Instrument, and Tailwheel.
Stage checks with independent grading
Mark any lesson as a stage check and Wingtrex enforces what Part 141 expects: the student's primary instructor cannot grade it. A different instructor or your chief instructor signs off instead.
Every session attributed to the instructor who flew it
Any staff instructor can teach and grade any lesson, and each session permanently records who actually taught it. Reassign a student's primary instructor and the historical record stays intact.
A roster that tells you who needs attention
See every student's progress, pace against their target, projected completion date, and last session at a glance. Students with no activity in two weeks are flagged automatically, before they drift away.
Enrollment without the paperwork shuffle
Enroll existing members directly, or invite a brand-new student by email with their course already attached. They join your organization and land in the syllabus in one step.
Notes that stay with the school
Session notes on school courses are visible to the student and your instructional staff, so a substitute instructor walks in knowing exactly where the last lesson left off.
Connected to everything
Book the lesson, fly it, grade it, log it
Training doesn't live in a silo. A reservation can be tagged with the student's enrollment and syllabus lesson, so the schedule always shows what is being trained, not just who has the airplane.
- Tag any reservation with an enrollment and syllabus lesson
- Check-in prompts the instructor to grade, prefilled with the lesson, date, and flight
- Graded flights attach to the student's logbook automatically
- Instructor availability, aircraft checkouts, and billing all apply to training flights like any other

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does Wingtrex Training cost?
It costs $9 per active student per month, added to your Wingtrex Manage subscription. An active student is a member with at least one active course enrollment; a student enrolled in two courses still counts once. There is no base fee, billing adjusts automatically as students enroll and complete, and it is included free during your 30-day trial.
Is Wingtrex Training only for Part 141 schools?
No. It is built to support Part 141 workflows like stage checks and structured stages, but the same tools (school-owned syllabi, progress tracking, instructor attribution) are just as useful for Part 61 schools, clubs with training programs, and any organization that wants structured instruction. Each course is tagged Part 61 or Part 141.
Does using Wingtrex make my school Part 141 compliant?
Part 141 approval is granted by the FAA to your school, not by software. Wingtrex Training gives you the structure that approval expects: an organized training course outline, enforced independent stage checks, and complete instructor-attributed training records.
What do my students see?
Students follow their course from their personal Training page, badged with your school's name, with their syllabus, session history, and instructor notes. Students never pay anything, and their graded flights flow straight into their free Wingtrex logbook.
How is this different from the free CFI training tools?
Independent CFIs on Wingtrex can already run personal courses with their own students for free. Wingtrex Training is the organization-owned version of that same engine: courses belong to the school, any staff instructor can teach and grade, records survive instructor changes, and managers get a school-wide roster.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. Training is a toggle on your billing page. Turn it off and billing stops, while existing records remain readable and enrollments can be closed out. Turn it back on whenever you need it.
